Oda is then later on seen doing some training with Akutagawa. Oda then later on arrives at a building together with Tanizaki, Kenji and Kunikida to stop Akutagawa from going to the boss of the pharmaceutical company which killed the plants Akutagawa and Kenji is taking care of. Together with other agency members, Oda approaches Edogawa to ask for his help in finding Akutagawa's sister. Oda explains Akutagawa wishes to kill 2 people, that is why he is honing his ability.

Akutagawa blows Kunikida's words off and Oda suddenly presses a spoon into Akutagawa's neck, telling him he's done enough. After Oda's explanation, Akutagawa continues to attack Oda to no avail over Kunikida's protests.

Oda didn't know how to train someone and told Akutagawa he would mentor him if he came to work with him. Oda explains that at the riverbank he had found Akutagawa at, he had fended off Akutagawa's attack, making Akutagawa wanting him to teach him how to attain such power. Akutagawa continues using Rashomon to attack Oda, however, Oda easily dodges each attack with ease when Kunikida yells over the commotion. Oda apologizes to the waitress when Oda hands Kunikida his curry, right before Rashomon impales the table on and around where the plate was. After seeing the future, Oda uses his spoon to block Rashomon piercing his neck. It was a premonition of the future 3 seconds later. Oda's curry then arrives, after taking a bite, Oda goes to the waitress and orders to make the curry spicier when Akutagawa's Rashomon cuts his neck. Tanizaki introduces Oda as Sakunosuke Oda, explaining he joined the agency 2 years ago and he'll be Akutagawa's mentor. Oda says he does, and shows Kunikida, to which Oda's expression stays exactly the same. Oda explains they don't take his words seriously, Kunikida replies that it is difficult to tell when Oda is serious, and he should make an unpleasant expression. Kunikida tells Oda to excuse himself at some point. Oda explains he was late because he was stuck in a conversation with an old lady.
Īfter Oda arrives at the cafe, he immediately sits down and orders to curry, paying no attention to Kunikida's yelling. Later on, he arrives late at the cafe, who was then scolded by Kunikida, another member of the agency, for being late and about the rookie he referred to which he explains he was having a conversation. Īfter taking the young man in, whose name is Ryunosuke Akutagawa, Oda tells him to head to a certain location. Oda punches him in the gut and carries him over his shoulder, introducing himself as Oda, an employee of the Armed Detective Agency. However, the young man starts to attack him however he is able to dodge the attack. He approaches him telling he is concerned about the young man. Oda appears before a starving young man by the river.
